I began art quilting after moving to Colorado, where I’ve been blessed to create and learn amidst an amazing community of artists and teachers.  My work combines the hand-embroidery that I learned as a child with contemporary design, often integrating word, paint, and abstract image.  As a long-time teacher and teacher educator (I’m currently a Professor of Education at CU Boulder), I bring a continuing hunger for growth and learning to all that I do.  I love creating something new from familiar resources and stories, and would delight in working with families and communities to create works that celebrate shared memories and values.
